Lessons

Everything you need to know about having lessons with Ann
Your First Assessment Lesson With Me
  • Will be 1.5 hours, which is longer than future lessons so that we have time to gather information about each other.
  • Will be assessing you to determine where you are up to and what our priorities will be.
  • Will be partly videoed to show the starting point and finishing point of your lesson.
  • After the lesson has finished (unmounted) we will review the video footage together and discuss the differences we can each see.
  • This will be downloaded onto a DVD and given to you at the next lesson or posted out to you.
  • You will be given a written report on the lesson to document what we’ve discussed.
  • You may be given exercises to strengthen or stretch parts of your body, depending on your needs.

* If the lesson is at your venue, I need to have use of a TV so that I can connect it to the video camera and play the footage back.

Regular Lessons
  • Will be 45 mins to 1 hour long, depending on the progress/ability of the horse/rider on that day.
  • There is no video recording or feedback, just a one on one sesssion.
  • You may be given exercises to strengthen or stretch parts of your body, depending on your needs.
  • Ann offers regular private lessons with small groups of riders in various area’s within the Perth Metro and beyond.
  • If you’re interested in starting a new group, or joining an existing group, contact Ann.
Future Assessment Lessons

Riding Club Rallies

Through trial and error, I’ve learnt which lesson formats work well with my way of teaching and which don’t.

I can provide the greatest benefit to riders I’ve never taught before, where I have the time to record each one during their lesson, and have a video feedback session as soon as possible thereafter – the clinic or assessment lesson format.  Thereafter, regular lessons will build on the knowledge we’ve both gained in the video recording/feedback sessions.

For this reason, I no longer do “normal lessons” at riding club rallies, but am certainly available for clinics where this can be incorporated into the program.

I do however offer regular lessons to small groups of riders in various areas of the Perth metro and beyond, starting with an assessment lesson for each rider and then moving on to regular weekly/fortnightly/monthly lessons.  If you’re interested in starting a new group or joining an existing group, contact me.

See the Clinic Format page for more details.
